Cheese Chick’s Tasting Tips rtpix

New to the world of cheese?  Getting the low down on how to host your own tasting doesn't have to be a scary proposition.  Check out the simple tips below to make your tasting sizzle.

Cheese tastes best served at room temperature.
Remove cheese from the fridge at least 45 minutes before you plan to share it.  The flavor and texture will be vastly improved.  Don’t believe me?  Sample straight from the fridge and then again in an hour.  You’ll be amazed.

Serve slices of cheese with a bit of rind.
Not only is it visually more interesting, the rind of a cheese holds clues to the flavor profile and many rinds (like that of brie) are edible ifdesired.   My advice:  Try it.  If you like it, go for it.  If not, simply cut it away.   More on Rinds

Plate up only what you plan to eat.
If you have more cheese than you plan to enjoy, cut portions and return the rest to the fridge.  Exposure to air causes cut cheese to loose moisture, compromising texture and flavor.
